The town of O Incio is located 15 km from O BUSTO ALDEA RURAL via mountain tracks or 25 km via A Pobra do Brollón.
This municipality is located in the South of Lugo, between the Valley of Lemos and the Serra do Courel, it belongs to the region of Sarria, and is made up of a single population entity, A Cruz do Incio, the capital of the municipality. The main monument of this parish is the Church of Santa Maria de la Cruz, classified as a cultural heritage site.
Different ROUTES in the municipality allow you to discover its cultural and natural heritage, such as the Trascastro Route, the Iron Route or the Vilasouto Route, on which we can see the Vilasouto Reservoir, which flooded houses and land and changed the landscape of the area, a sea of water boxed in between Monte Agudo and Pena Furada.
One of its most well-known and used products since Roman times has been its marble, a very porous material, grey in colour and veined in different shades, used to construct numerous sculptures and architectural elements that adorned the Roman city of Lucus Augusti (Lugo), as well as the walls of the Romanesque complex of O Hospital, located on the road that connects A Cruz do Incio with A Ferrería, where a Spa Hotel (currently closed) is located, visited for its ferruginous waters with medicinal properties.
