Town and municipality in the southeast of Lugo and belongs to the region of Quiroga. It is located in the heart of the Sierra do Courel, a natural area where many HIKING ROUTES lead to PLACES OF INTEREST of great beauty such as hill forts (Castro de Vilar, de Vilamor, de Seceda,…), Roman mines (Tunnel and aqueduct of Romeor, Mina da Toca, Minas do Torubio,…), viewpoints (Pena do Teso Grande, Penaboa, Alto do Boi, Castelo do Carbedo,…), Waterfalls (de Pedreira, de Rexio,…), Caves (Sima de Aradelas, Tralacosta and Chao dos Mazaricos in Paderne, Buraca das Grellas or Sima Teixeira,…)… Also of great interest is the Geopark Montañas do Courel, a perfect showcase to observe part of the geological history, specifically the lower and middle Paleozoic.
